Focal Length: 12.1mm
ISO: 720
Av: f/4.2
Tv: 1/250sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used the settings of this shot for the purpose of capturing a panoramic photo. The flash didn't fire because it was a panoramic photo, and the lighting was brilliant in this terminal of DIA. ISO was at 720 for the panoramic settings, along with the set Av of 4.2 for the best light. Tv was at 1/250 sec to balance the Av and ISO.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3
Lens: Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6
Focal Length: 88.7mm
ISO: 320
Av: f/5.6
Tv: 1/60sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used these settings to keep the image soft. I added coloring in correlation with the Colorado flag. Focal length of 88.7 to get the Flag as the subject. ISO was changed for the zoom of the focal length. Av and Tv were adjusted based on the focal length and the softness of the image. Flash did not fire because of the back lighting available and the sky lighting above.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3
Lens: Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6
Focal Length: 10mm
ISO: 160
Av: f/5.0
Tv: 1/1000sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used these settings because it made sense to keep the focal length as small as possible to capture the wide view. ISO at 160 for image quality, and Av for light and focus. Tv was set to balance Av and flash didn't fire because I had plenty of light outside available above the cloud line of Chicago.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3
Lens: Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6
Focal Length: 10mm
ISO: 160
Av: f/16
Tv: 1/50sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used these settings of a small Av, because I had plenty of light from the atmosphere around me. The plane wasn't lit inside the cabin which thankfully focused all light from the world outside. I used a standard ISO because I had such great lighting on the subject which is Chicago below. I did not need flash for these reasons. Focal length was at 10mm to capture the wide view I had out the window.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3
Lens: Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6
Focal Length: 30.3mm
ISO: 160
Av: f/5.3
Tv: 1/400sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used this setting because I wanted to capture a certain depth of field to get the cars in focus and nothing else; its called tilt shift. I didn't use flash because there was plenty of side light to hit the cars from the outside of the sun shade in the terminal. Focal length of 30.3mm to capture the subjects and not include the terminal itself. ISO was standard because I didn't want to sacrifice quality. I have the Av set to keep things in focus compensating for the tilt shift blur. Tv was set to balance Av. Flash did not fire because I didn't need it.

Tv: 1/200sec
Flash: Did not fire
I used the 100mm to get a clear focus on the subject. I really liked the side lighting of the sunset illuminating on the building faces so I used the biggest Av setting I could at that focal length. The Tv was set to compensate for the focal length and the Av setting. I used ISO 400 for the lighting and quality balance. Flash didn't fire because I didn't need it.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3

Tv: 1/800sec
Flash: Did not fire.
I used the focal length to capture the columns leading to the central building but at the same time I wanted to have a clear subject isolated. ISO was 160 for good quality with the Av setting as big as I could make it with the focal length. Tv was set according to the Av automatically, and of course my flash wouldn't even be effective during this time of day with front lighting the way it was; therefore it didn't fire. I'm not one of those photographers that over uses flash.
Camera Used: Nikon 1 J3
Lens: Nikkor 10-100mm f/4-5.6
Focal Length: 10mm
ISO: 220
Av: f/8.0
Tv: 1/60sec
Flash: Did not fire.
I used the focal length to capture the sunset and the buildings well at 10mm. The ISO was at 220 because it was getting a little darker out. Av setting was at 8.0 to capture the right amount of light at but also maintain focus for this setting of a 1/60 Tv setting. Flash did not fire because of decent front lighting of the sun behind me. Tv was at 1/60 because I could hold that steady with the Av setting at this light level with the increased ISO.

Flash: Did not fire.
I used the focal length to take out any unwanted foreground and have the brush at the bottom of the photograph be a good base foreground. The ISO was standard at 160 for good film quality with the amount of lighting provided. I used the highest Av available with my focal length for good lighting and focus. The Tv setting was intended to grant the birds some blur and emphasis of motion but to stop them enough to still identify them. Flash was not needed so it was not used.

Tv: 1/200sec
Flash: Did not fire.
For purposes of capturing the buildings together, I used the 20.3 mm focal length with a low ISO for good quality. The Av setting was all the way open as big as I could get it for good light and focus on all the buildings and the foreground bushes. Tv was set to balance out the Av setting of 5.0 for good light balance and focus. Flash was not needed, so it was not fired with the provided front light of the sun peeking through the clouds behind me.

I used these settings to really capture those sun beams coming towards me between the walls of the two buildings I was framing the sun with. F/11 really works well to capture beams, which is why it was used. Focal length was selected at 10mm to get the brick and the spiderweb with the dew drops in focus as well as the building texture and still capture both buildings to frame the sun. The Tv was set to balance the Av setting with the ISO at 160 due to the brilliant back-lighting. Flash did not fire because it was not necessary with the back-lighting.

These settings were used to again capture the sun beams piercing the clouds down to the city below. I used the focal length as low as it could go to get as wide of an angle as possible. ISO 160 was used to utilize focus while still able to harness enough light to provide good image quality. Av f/11 was used for those beams, and balanced with the Tv 1/200 sec to keep the shot balanced. Flash did not fire because it was not needed. Arguably this was side lighting due to the location of the sun to my top right, but it was also back lighting. Either way the photo turned out well without flash, so it wasn't used not that it could even reach the first building anyway.

I used these settings to capture the vibrance of the sky above and the cloud detail; thus I needed the wide focal length and a lower ISO for my current lighting. Tv was set balanced to the Av for my focus range and light balance. Flash was not fired because it was not necessary.

I used the camera settings I did to produce an impression that sunset was transitioning soon. Focal length of 46.1 to capture the church tower as a primary subject and keep unwanted buildings out of frame to my left and right. Av was set to catch as much light as possible with my focal length chosen, balanced with a 1/500 sec Tv setting. Flash did not fire because it was not necessary.

Tv: 1/80sec
Flash: Did not fire.
I used these camera settings with an "Old Time" feel coloration to give the sensation of history.
The ISO therefore needed to be a little higher to grant enough light sensitivity, with a wide open Av setting for the focal length. The Tv was longer because it needed to capture light long enough with the contrast settings to produce the sense of sharpness and pop you see here with definition. Flash was not needed, so it did not fire.

I used the focal length to keep the camera in focus with such a high ISO in the darkness. Av was as high as possible for the light, and balanced with a slower Tv setting. Flash did not fire to keep the real light in context.

I used the camera settings to keep the food lit naturally by the light above me for front lighting. ISO was higher for good lighting without the need for flash. Av set for best lighting and paired with a slower Tv setting to balance everything out. Focal length was kept at 10mm so I could get close and stay in focus with the ability to keep a 4.5 Av setting.

I used the camera settings I did because I wanted the pizza in good focus in the foreground and to diminish towards the back and the rest of the table. ISO was higher due to lighting and the Av was as open as possible with the 27.2mm focal length. Tv was set slower to compensate for the lower light available.

I used these camera settings to once again capture the best detail possible with the given light. Focal length was set to keep that Av as big as possible and the Tv was set to balance the Av. Flash didn't fire because I wanted natural lighting. ISO was higher for added light sensitivity.

I used these settings to really highlight the food before me with the granted front light. I wanted everything in focus so I used that Av setting. I had to balance for the Av setting with my Tv setting on Av priority. The ISO was bumped for best light sensitivity and quality compromise. Flash did not fire because I wanted ambient lighting from the bar light.

I used tilt shift with this Av setting to get the pizza's ingredients in mouthwatering detail and clarity. Focal length was set for the focus of my subject and nothing else. I didn't want the fork in focus neither did I want the menu behind the pizza in focus. I used the low ISO for good quality and a balanced Tv setting for my Av requirements. Flash did not fire because it was not needed.

I used these camera settings to keep the beer glass and the wall beneath it in as much focus as possible with a softer background in the distance. The ISO was low due to good back light. Av was set for the best light with my focal length; Tv balanced accordingly. Flash did not fire because it was not necessary.

I had to use the maximized focal length because I was quite a distance away from these people. I had to wait for the right time to shoot as well before anyone got in the way, and while arms were down away from the glasses. ISO was at 160 for good quality. Av was set to keep the best isolated depth of field as possible at that zoom. Tv was balanced accordingly with the depth of field concentrated on teh glasses and not the people. Flash did not fire, it was not needed.

I used the focal length I did to capture the sign as a primary subject and isolate that. The Av was set to keep the focus as good as possible with the focal length nearing maximum capacity. The Tv was set in accordance to balance with the Av. Flash didn't fire because it wasn't necessary. The sign was in focus and that which was behind it was lost intentionally.

Being in a trench made lighting an issue. However with the little front lighting that was available I managed to capture this soldier rather well with the focal length at 10mm, very high ISO and open Av. The Tv was slowed way down to compensate and balance this. It took a few shots to hand hold this and keep everything in focus that I wanted in focus. Flash did not fire because I wanted to maintain the front lighting above him not from my position. I realize that the highlights are a little too bright.

In this photograph lighting situations were difficult. There was a very bright light shining through the display case onto these gas masks, when editing it was hard to bring down that light without distorting the image. Focal length was set at 19.2 to cut past the crowded exhibit and isolate these four masks. The ISO was high for poor lighting everywhere but that white mask. The Av was set in accordance with light availability, balanced with a slow Tv setting. Flash didn't fire to not offset the already strong front spot lighting. I realize the highlights are a little strong, but I had to make due the best I could.

These camera settings were used for the reasons of light availability. The lantern between the two soldiers was the only light source in the trench and thus was a primary subject. The highlights are strong however, it was either that or a distorted photo. The focus of the soldiers and their surroundings was my goal which is why I used an Av setting of 5.6 and the balanced, slow Tv setting of 1/5sec. ISO was way up there at 3200 for reasons of light sensitivity, and flash did not fire. Flash would've ruined the theme of the lantern.

The sky was so eery I just had to take this photograph! Focal length was set at 10mm to capture the wide angle, with a low ISO to hold the darkness where I wanted it. Av was set according for light balance and a standard 1/125sec Tv which was well balanced in Av priority for the settling night sky. Flash did not fire for it was not needed, I was focused on the moon as my primary subject.

This photograph was taken in a cloudy darkness in a WWI cemetery. The lighting was not really available in my favor. Therefore my ISO was kicked way up, and the Av was as open as possible with my focused 35.3mm focal length. Tv was balanced with Av in Av priority. Flash did not fire for it would not reach the subject from my location and would throw off the sensation of darkness and gloom.

This photo was taken in the same cemetery as the photo above, with slightly better lighting. I was able to get a wider Av setting due to my shorter focal setting. However, I still kicked up the ISO to 3200 for a good light sensitivity with my given surroundings and back light. Tv was slow to compensate for the light sensitivity and flash did not fire to keep a natural lighting.

This brilliant memorial was well lit and provided its own lighting and was thus my primary subject with a luminance about it that really made it stand out well. ISO was at 1600 to keep a balance of light and sensitivity that suited the subject and the background. I wanted the sky in some clarity because otherwise it wouldn't be visible at all. The Av was wide open at a 10mm focal length for best light possible and focus where I wanted it on my primary subject. The Tv setting was balanced to get that good amount of light behind the memorial and the sky above. Flash did not fire because it was not needed; the subject had plenty of lighting to begin with.

I had to use a longer focal length to hide my identity! Therefore I had to keep my Av as open as possible to light her face and the building behind her but keep her in focus. Yet at the same time folks don't want too much clarity when their picture is taken. ISO was at a low 200 due to good light. Tv was balanced with Av in Av priority and flash did not fire to conceal my identity and she was already well lit.

I had to keep my distance from this gentleman so he would just focus on the path ahead of him (which I was standing in, not to his knowledge) and keep walking instead of stopping with curiosity. ISO was low for good quality with an open Av for good light at such a focal length. Tv was balanced to hold him as he walked and stop blur. Flash didn't fire because it wasn't needed.

I fortunately caught her when she was particularly sassy and not particularly paying attention to me. I wanted her face in focus and the wall behind her out of focus so I used the balanced Av and Tv settings of 5.6 and 1/125 to hold her still before she moved. Flash didn't fire because she had good side lighting to begin with.

I snapped this guy before he could eat me, he looked rather startled. Fortunately he held still for a photograph. ISO was a little kicked up so that I could keep his face lit but also the wall behind him. I wanted a good sense of contrast and clarity of the marble with its crumbles. Av and Tv were balanced well to keep good focus on the lion and not on the wall behind him. Flash didn't fire because it wasn't needed, plus the side lighting did his face justice and illuminated his figure well.

I was quite a distance away from this gentleman and his lovely date with her back to me. Therefore, I needed the 100mm focal length and the 800 ISO to keep good lighting under the shade he was in from the distance I was at. Av was set to keep him as the focal priority. Tv was balanced with the Av to take a good photo, hold him still, and balance light. Flash was not needed because it wouldn't reach and also he was already well side lit.

This lovely gal struck a wonderful smile without noticing me in front of her behind her friend. I was able to hold her hair in still motion as it blew in the wind to add flair to the photo with a 1/125 Tv setting. Av was balanced accordingly in Tv priority. Flash was not needed so it was not fired. ISO was held at 400 to keep the light sensitivity from my distance as the sun was setting with a back and side light.

He was looking towards the sunset beside a bar listening to music and enjoying a beer. I captured this photo from a distance and prioritized him as the subject with a 92.8mm focal length. ISO was set to 800 for lighting purposes balanced with an Av setting of f/5.6 for focus. Tv was set to 100 to get a nice smooth shot with the increased ISO.

I was able to capture her with a good focus and prime timing. 42.4mm was the perfect focal length to isolate her and not those around her. ISO of 560 was ideal for the lighting situation with a healthy f/5.6 for focus on her smiling face and not the tree behind her. Tv was slower to hold the light but not cause blur. Flash was not fired because it was not needed with the lighting behind her to the right.

The front lighting in this portrait was perfect, I had a great background of texture behind him with a similar color pallet. I still needed a higher than average ISO because the sun was getting lower and lower. Av was set to 5.6 to hold focus on my subject and soften the background he was against. Tv was slow to hold that light as long as possible for a clear photo. With a Focal length of 56.2 I was able to isolate him in a bust. I didn't need flash because of the good exposure with the 360 ISO.

I used pretty standard settings for this photograph because the environment I was in had decent lighting from above which cast dramatic light over the subject. I was able to have a very clear shot with great focus and sharp details. I was really happy with the light balance, and isolation from the 24.2mm focal length. Av was set at 5.0 for good open light at the extended focal length. Tv was evenly balanced accordingly with Av priority. Flash was not needed in this photograph.

This very spiritual temple was shot with a 10mm focal point because I wanted to capture its magnificence. I had plenty of light so I used an ISO of only 160 with an Av of f/5.0 balanced in priority with a standard 1/250 Tv setting. Flash was not needed so it was not used. I loved the detail I could capture within the Av and focal length. The temple clearly has age to it, but is still standing in its grand figure.f

I had wonderful side light for this shot. The orchestration of this piece really pleased me. The way the pillars were lined up, and the ruble ahead of me. I was able to get it all in good focus with plenty of light from a low ISO of 160 and a healthy Av wide open at 5.0. Tv was balanced at 1/800 to quickly capture the right amount of light in harmony with the other elements. Flash as not needed in this shot due to the great presence of light all around me.

To capture the brilliance of this podium alter in a Catholic cathedral I used a 10mm focal length. ISO was kicked up because of the light availability; I needed greater light sensitivity. Av was set to 5.6 to get good focus and Tv set for 1/15sec to make sure enough light was clearly captured for a solid photo. Flash was not needed during this photograph to light everything evenly. There was also a brilliant back light behind the subject providing a balance.

This church was shot during a cloudy day, and the influence of the gloomy day was cast across the bleached look of the photograph. Flash was not needed in this photo due to a back light. I shot 19.2mm to focus on this part of the church with a good Av setting of f/4.8 to do so. To balance out the exposure time I increased Tv to 1/800 sec to get both the background and the subject well lit with a 160 ISO setting.

The cross here at the cemetery was shot with 10mm to capture its height. I used a high ISO of 1400 due to the dark lighting from the sky. To comply with the lighting and the focal point I used an Av setting of f/5.6 to get the cross in focus and gain enough light with a slow 1/15 Tv setting. Flash was not needed during this shot for it couldn't reach. and provided a contradiction of light.

I shot this photograph to capture the luminance of the sun setting over Corciano at ISO 160. I kept the sun in focus and closed the depth of field around that with tilt shift and an open Av setting. Tv was fast to keep the light balanced with a silhouette effect with the tree. Flash was not necessary for this photograph and was not used. I used the Focal length of 38.8mm to capture the sun through the tree as a ball of radiance. Av was open at f/5.6 for good light, with the fast 1/1000sec Tv.

My subject was these lime trees beneath a cliff face from within a garden in Sicily. The ideal focal length in my opinion was therefore 14.4mm to get a wide setting yet still focused. ISO was 160 because it was a bright day. Av was at f/13 to not get too much light into the photo as the sun was a side light and very strong. Tv was at a pretty standard 1/250 setting to capture the photograph with good detail and balanced light. No flash was needed for this photo nor was it used.

The beauty of this landscape was captured with a focal length of 10mm for full effect. The lighting was vibrant behind me so an ISO of 160 was called for. Av was very wide at f/4.0 for good light and detail along with a 1/800sec Tv setting to hold the photo in harmonic balance. Flash was not needed for this photo nor was it used.

Holy rays Batman! These babies were caught with an f/8.0 Av setting paired with a swift 1/320sec Tv setting. The focal length was at 22.9 to make the sign the primary subject. The light was right where I wanted it for a silhouette so I used a 160 ISO setting and no flash.

This brilliant sunset was shot at a focal length of 10mm because it was a wide angle to capture. The suns rays were brilliant and beam like because of the f/11 Av setting paired with a quick 1/400sec Tv setting. Flash was obviously not needed for the semi silhouette effect and the great back lighting of the photograph, therefore it was not used.

I used a low Av setting to get this grape vine in Autumn, in full focus at the middle ground. The focal length necessary to do so was 13.6mm. I used an ISO of 160 because I had brilliant lighting from the sun at my back. Therefore, to capture the leaves into focus I used Av f/5.6 to isolate focus and a paired Tv 1/320sec setting to keep the photo balanced with light foreground, middle-ground, and background. No flash was needed for this photograph because it was already well lit, therefore none was used.

Focal length was kept at 14.4 to capture this brewing storm, with an ISO of 160 because of good lighting. I wanted the quality of good focus so I used f/5.6 for a harmony with a standard 1/250sec Tv setting. Flash was not necessary for the shot and would've done little to nothing for me. Therefore, it wasn't used.

This rock formation leading to an infinity across the ocean was captured with a wide 10mm focal length and heavily cropped. ISO setting stood at 640 to give that infinity impression so the eyes wander into nothingness. I used a tight Av of f/16 to keep the light intake focussed on what was before me not far out there on the horizon. Tv was slow at 1/30 so that the lighting and focus would cooperate. Therefore I have this gradual ascent into the imagination as the eyes wander up the photo.
Flash was not needed, and therefor not used for this photograph.

I utilized the depth of field isolation with the assistance of tilt shift to focus on the villa to the right. I wanted the focus emphasized there as a primary subject. Focal length was set at 10mm to capture the landscape at wide angle. ISO 160 was appropriate with the great lighting that was available to me at sunset. An Av setting of f/5.0 was good to keep the house in focus but not much else except the land far out on the horizon. Because of the light and the focus I wanted to take a quick photo with a 1/1000 Tv speed. Flash was not required on this photo nor was it used. This photo sticks out in my mind as a reminder of paradise.
Thank you for viewing!
I'm glad I could take such an opportunity to shoot these photographs.
Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did!
